This Saab 96 V4 has been lovingly refurbished to a very high standard with excellent attention to detail. The 96 now looks stunning and drives nicely, and provides an excellent everyday classic car, or show car, which is economical and fun to drive.
The 96 is a 1973 registered model in the classic white, with a brown interior. It has 2 previous owners, the original owner from new up until 2005, and then a Saab enthusiast. It has been looked after very well throughout its life. It has a low mileage of 37k miles with MOT and Service documentation, and comes with a V5C registration document, an MOT until September 2012 (with no advisories) and taxed until October 2012.
Many hours have been spent working on the Saab to sympathetically create a very high standard of finish. I have rebuilt many classic cars, the previous ones have gone to very satisfied classic car lovers. I've enjoyed, and taken pride in, working on the Saab and it will give me further enjoyment to see it used, loved and cared for. I am sure this Saab will provide joy to the new owner.
The body is very strong and original. It has original, unwelded sills and floors. It has only been welded on the passenger rear wheel arch, and rear suspension uppers. It has then had underseal applied leaving a strong and protected structure. Oil has been injected into the sills and other cavities.
There is no rust or corrosion anywhere. It has been primed and then sprayed in 2 pack paint. It has had 4 top coats of fresh white. The finish is excellent, very high gloss, durable and smooth.
The underside of the wings have been applied with 3 coats of underseal.
There is a fuel locking filler cap.
The number plates are in durable pressed aluminium, in traditional black and silver.
The 96 starts and runs well as electronic ignition system is fitted, together with a new distributor cap.
The mileage is a low 37k miles, backed up with MOT certificates, so the mechanics are excellent.
The free wheel works as it should.
The gears engage well, although 4th gear needs a certain technique to engage.
Fuel piping has been replaced, with a new fuel filter added.
All additional wiring is tidy, and fully fused.
It has been fully serviced, with new oil, oil filter, anti-freeze, and all other checks and adjustments.

The tyres are new, with reconditioned wheels. The wheel discs are of the old style, and it very good condition, giving the period feel.
Included is a 96 user manual, two sets of original Saab keys and a workshop manual, together with the V5C registration document and current MOT document.
The seats have been reupholstered, and are in good quality perdio material. The driver’s seat retains its heater cushion option.
Headrests have been fitted to the front seats.
The original door cards and headlining are in excellent, unmarked condition.
The original carpet is in very good condition.
New Securon 4 point lap and diagonal automatic seatbelts have been fitted to the front and to the rear of the car.
There is a front fog light and front driving light wired in (both are from the 1970s and made out of stainless steel). There is also a rear fog light (to replace one of the reversing lights).
